I got a letter recently
It might be a reminder, a Notice of Estimate, or an audit notification. There is still plenty of time to respond calmly and stay in control of what happens next.
I have had more than one letter, or a Compliance Intervention
It is easy to feel like Revenue is not listening, or that things are piling up. We can step in as your registered Tax Agent and take the conversation over from here.
The Sheriff has been in touch, or called by
This means the case has moved into enforcement. It still has a clear way forward. The sooner we speak to the Sheriff on your behalf, the more options stay open.
What a letter from Revenue actually means
Revenue sends several different kinds of letters, and most of them are far more routine than they feel in the moment:
- A reminder or a Notice of Estimate: a return has not been filed yet, so Revenue has raised its own estimate of what is owed. Filing the real return replaces that estimate with the actual figure, which is almost always lower.
- An audit notification or Compliance Intervention: Revenue wants to review a specific period or issue. This follows a standard process with clear steps, not an accusation.
- A letter from the Revenue Sheriff: the case has been referred for enforcement. The Sheriff acts on a warrant issued by Revenue under Section 960L of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997, and once that happens you deal directly with the Sheriff about the amount on the warrant.
Whichever letter you have in front of you, the same first move applies: send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you plainly what it is and what it means for you.
What a registered Tax Agent does for you
A Tax Agent registered with Revenue (a TAIN holder) can act on your behalf, so that Revenue corresponds with us instead of with you while your situation is being sorted out.
- We read the letter and explain it in plain English or Portuguese.
- We register as your Tax Agent, so future letters and calls come to us first.
- We file whatever returns are missing, so the real numbers replace any estimate Revenue has raised.
- Where there is a balance to pay, we negotiate a Phased Payment Arrangement so it can be paid over time.
None of this requires you to already have all the answers. That is what we are here for.
What happens after you message us
Send a photo of the letter on WhatsApp
No forms and no waiting room. Send the photo with a short message, and we read it the same day.
We register as your Tax Agent (TAIN)
Once you agree, Revenue starts corresponding with us instead of with you, so you are not managing this on your own.
We file whatever is missing
Any outstanding return is prepared and filed, so the real liability replaces any estimate Revenue has raised.
We negotiate a payment arrangement if needed
Where there is a balance to clear, we deal directly with Revenue, or with the Sheriff if the case has reached that stage, to agree a realistic way to pay it over time.
The first step is one photo, no commitment
Send us a photo of the letter on WhatsApp and tell us a little about what is going on. We read it and explain what it means, in plain English or Portuguese, before you decide anything else. That first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
